~SUmMeR tImE~

Summer has officially arrived in the great Northwest :) YAY!!! I love it soooooo much!! The last week was extremely busy with my sister Michelle in town for my mom and dads 50th Anniversary party. We spent all day monday preparing for the big party and had a lot of fun!! Rene, Michelle, and I got alot done and managed to have a little fun too:) It is so nice to have Michelle and her family home, we all miss them so much!!

Saturday was the day of the big party....so in the morning Michelle, Mike, Rene, Darrell, Scott, Tiffany, Tyler, Brittany, and our Aunt Shelly, and I all went to the church to set up. It was So MUch FUN!! My family really is the best to be around!! even when working we can manage to have a BLAST!!! We decided to have a 50s theme and Michelle is a decorating GENIOUS and came up with some amazing decorations that really transformed the gym into a 50s style soda shop. The pictures I got really dont do it justice but it was amazing!! The party was set to start at 6 and my parents actually stayed away until the party so it was a suprise when they walked in. I really think we managed to blow them away...they had seen a few of the decorations but never imagined how great it would all look put together.

The party itself was a huge success!! All of us kids were there, the first time we have all been together in at least 10 years, all but two of the grandkids, and all of the great grandkids. That in itself was pretty amazing, I think in my parents eyes that would have been enough just having their whole family together in the same room but it was awesome to have so many other people come and celebrate with us!!

This week we are just going to relax and have fun with Michelle and Rene and the kids before Michelle heads back to Nevada. I am soooo incredibly thankful for my sisters and how wonderful they are. They are the best aunts to my kids, and the best friends I could ask for!! Having Michelle around this last week has made me miss her so much more!! I really wish she lived closer. All of our kids have so much fun together and its nice to just sit back and watch them play. I guess we will have to cram as much fun into the next few days as we can :)

Man am I a Big BABY or what???

I honestly dont know what my problem is!! I have had to force myself not to cry all day today!! Really what it comes down to is today is the last day of school, but the tears is not for the reason you might think. No Im not sad that my kids are going to be home all summer, Im actually happy about that. What is making me a big cry baby is that my kids are growing up so fast!! My baby is no longer a kindergartener and Addison will soon be in 5th grade....5th grade people!! Seriously I cannot be this OLD:) Not only that but my kids have been so extremely blessed with the most fabulous teachers this year that I just cant imagine any other teachers comparing. My kids all love school and I know its in large part due to their teachers. And I have to say I loved going in to all of their classrooms!! I got to know so many great kids and it makes me sad to think Im not going to see them for a while and then when i do it will be in passing not all together. So you see I am a big BABY!! Plus it doesnt help that they all said the nicest things about my kids in their report cards!! So again had to force myself not to cry while reading them, at least they would have been good tears and not because of their grades:) So thats that...the beginning of what I hope is a FAB summer with lots of days spent at the lake and our traditional day at Wild Waves:)

Just a random update, what can I say Im bored:)

Today has been the most relaxing Saturday I have had in a VERy long time and it has been WONDERFUL!!! I have done absolutly nothing all day.....LOVE IT. THe only problem is I have things I need to get done, case in point the scrapbooks I volunteered to make for Kylers class. They are really cute and all but between Kylers teacher and I we forgot to save a project for the month of September so I have a blank page that I have no idea what to do with.HELP, school gets out in a few days and I am STUCK!! I put alot of time into these books and I really want them to be cute, its the first page for goodness sake, if that's not good it totally messes up the whole thing!!! I did find a cute poem online and I'm putting that in but it just doesn't seem like its enough for the first page. Any way other than that we had an amazing week of warm sunny weather and I managed to get a pretty good tan, but of course now that its the weekend it has been raining off and on all day...Only in the great northwest:)

On another happy note Adam decided to stick things out with the company he is with and it finally paid off a bit, which is such a relief!!! WE got our health insurance back and a few other nice things too. Adam is such a hard worker and he definitely made the right decision for our family once again...YIPPEE:)

~We Go Together~

Saturday was yet another great day for me!! What seems like forever ago some friends and I decided to get tickets to Grease, at the 5th Ave theater in Seattle. The day seemed to take FOREVER to get here but it was well worth the wait!!!! I am a HUGE fan of the movie and I have to say the play was 100 times better....maybe its just me, but I love the whole experience!! Adam got me tickets to 7 Brides for 7 Brothers for Christmas and ever since I cannot wait to go to the next show!! Anyway I could have watched it all day the performers were AMAZING, and there was just a fun vibe throughout the theater!! It really got me excited for the 50s themed anniversary party we are throwing for my parents in a couple weeks:) After the show we went and had dinner at a really nice restaurant called the PINK DOOR, it was a little different but really good. I had no idea that all salmon isn't pink....I thought I knew my salmon beings my dad does so much salmon fishing but apparently not:) So then we walked around Pike place market for maybe 15 minutes....BOOOHOOO, everything was closing up at 7!!! I could not believe it!! I was so BUMMED, even the stores around the market were closed...Needless to say I was a little let down, but I guess I will just have to plan a trip back to get some shopping done:) Adam will LOVE that. So then us girls went and visited with Samantha and Savannahs mom. I really like her,she is one of those people you can talk to about nothing for hours! It was alot of fun. When we finally decided to head home the mini nightmare started..... It took us over an hour to get out of Seattle!!!! Mind you it was 1 am, so it wasn't because of the crazy traffic in Seattle. We were using a GPS, which is supposed to be so easy, well it is if the on ramps aren't CLOSED....Out of no where with no warning 3 different ramps were closed, with no detour route or anything....just closed. I actually thought we might be in the Twilight Zone:) I could see the headlines....NO WAY OUT......Stuck In the City.....Fighting to get home....Anyway we decided to turn the GPS off and drive a while, turn it back on and hope it took us to an open ramp. Thank goodness it did and we made it home safely:)Just a whole lot later than we thought. It was a GREAT day and I cannot wait to go again!! I think WICKED is coming soon and I will be there!! I hear it is an Amazing show:)
